Welcome to the 2007
Spring Edition of The Chamber News.
Spring has finally sprung and so have our
events.
-
We started off this year with a very fun-filled
business after hours event held January 25,
2007, at the at the Eleanor Buck Wolf Nature
Center, in front of Mill Woods Park. Attendees
shared in networking as well as a tour of this
great facility.
-
On March 19, 2007, Sovereign Bank hosted our
next very well attended business after hours.
Over 50 attendees enjoyed heavy catered hors
d'oeuvres, and great networking, which included
the “30 second commercial” which provided every
attendee the opportunity to introduce themselves
to the group and to give additional details
about the business they represented.
-
On April 26, 2007, attendees at the Prudential
Connecticut Realty after hours enjoyed more
great networking and an opportunity to also give
their “30 second commercial”. I thank all these
businesses for hosting the events as it provides
our business community the opportunity to share
common goals, reach new customers, and showcase
their business.
- May 16, 2007, Wednesday, the WCOC's "Annual
Meeting & Awards Dinner" was held at
the Wethersfield Country Club with over 140
attendees and awards recipients. Our
congratulations go out again to all of the
award recipients! Click for our:
Follow-up Review.
- Bright and early on, May 23, 2007, Wednesday,
the WCOC held its annual "Annual State of
The Town (SOTT) Breakfast".
Over 60 attendees from the Wethersfield
business community heard from the Mayor,
Andrew Adil; Town Manager, Bonnie Therrien;
and Director of Planning & Economic
Development, Peter Gillespie on current and
future town initiatives. Also State
Representative Russ Morin and State Senator
Paul Doyle spoke briefly on what's happening
at the State level as it pertains to
Wethersfield businesses. A few images
from that meeting are here.
-
June 28
, 2007, Thursday,
was the WCOC's
"2nd
Annual Historic Wethersfield Stroll & Trolley
Ride", a "business after hours"
event co-hosted by The Wethersfield Historical
